The Fabric of Our Society is Being Ripped Apart

“My brothers and sisters, believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ must not show favoritism. Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in filthy old clothes also comes in. If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, ‘Here’s a good seat for you,’ but say to the poor man, ‘You stand there’ or ‘Sit on the floor by my feet,’ have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?

Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him? But you have dishonored the poor. Is it not the rich who are exploiting you? Are they not the ones who are dragging you into court? Are they not the ones who are blaspheming the noble name of him to whom you belong?

If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself,’ you are doing right. But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers.

For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. For he who said, ‘You shall not commit adultery,’ also said, ‘You shall not murder.’ If you do not commit adultery but do commit murder, you have become a lawbreaker.

Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment.” (James 2: 1-13)

Across the globe, everywhere you look, we can see turmoil and distress. It appears that every aspect of society is breaking down and the people of this planet are losing their ability to compromise. Too many issues have brought our society to the brink of disintegration as we divide ourselves into endless groups supporting numerous causes. Every cause is viewed as incredibly important and no one is willing to find common ground to resolve these issues. Everyone is right and everyone is wrong. This division is showing continued growth and many fear we will soon witness a climax that only ancient prophecies could have predicted.

We have done this to ourselves. Modern man has created this wicked society that rewards individuals for their abuse against those less fortunate. We promote outrageous actions of individuals and place them in the limelight as beacons for others to follow. Our political leaders work to enrich themselves instead of bettering the lives of their country’s citizens while our corporate leaders cut personnel expenses to increase the corporation stock price and their individual bonuses.  Those in power have corrupted our democratic system so that only those born into families of privilege will be provided with opportunities promised to us all.

The most disturbing aspect of this illusion is that the masses follow along like sheep being lead to the slaughter. We continue to work harder, increasing our productivity, while the values of the world currencies are decreasing faster than our limited pay increases. Slowly this is causing those living in the first world to experience the oppression that people of the third world and people of color have faced for many lifetimes.

If modern man had a righteous soul, then the oppression of so many would be resolved and our society would provide life, liberty and happiness to every human being alive.  Unfortunately, the greed and lust for power of our rulers has forbidden this evolution.  As an example, for the first time in the history of the United States of America, the current generation will experience a decrease in the quality of living compared to generations prior.

Why have we allowed our society to reward those who take from those who have little. An honest self-evaluation of any corporate executive would reveal the blood on their hands to rise to their status in life.  The use of ethical behavior is an illusion for those who have achieved wealth, to present themselves to the public as malevolent individuals, but the opposite is true.  That is why we have the common saying that allows us to bypass our own actions and morals when its associated to business.

Anyone with vision can see the direction the world is going. We are headed for a climax that will be on a Biblical scale. World currencies are declining, businesses have become zombified and require substantial loans to stay alive, and individual debt is at levels that are unsustainable. We are headed for a substantial financial correction that will rip the fabric of our society in half.  Those that pride themselves on their status and prosperity will witness the destruction of what they hold true. What will they do when the status they sold their souls for no longer exists?  How will they correct their moral foundation when they have forgotten what it means to be moral?  If they were willing to get blood on their hands during times of prosperity, what will these people do during times of distress?  Unfortunately, we may soon find out the answers to these great questions.

God warned the Jews that their generation would be destroyed for lack of knowledge.  Not knowledge on how to run a business or how to promote an individual’s career but knowledge on the workings of God and His warnings to mankind.  God is the same now as He was then and God has warned us of this time so that we may be ready for what is to come.  If we don’t watch and understand the actual workings of this world, during the birth pains, then how are we expected to understand the world during the time of tribulation?  We must pray that we will be ready, for the day that is coming. As all of us have sinned, and Scripture states that if we committed one sin we are guilty of them all, then none of us are worthy to be saved.  We must hold true to our Savior’s promise of salvation so that we may be provided protection from the things that will come upon the Earth.

“Now you dwellers in Jerusalem and people of Judah, Judge between me and my vineyard. What more could have been done for my vineyard that I have done for it? When I looked for good grapes, why did it yield only bad? Now I will tell you what I am going to do to my vineyard:

I will take away its hedge, and it will be destroyed; I will break down its wall, and it will be trampled. I will make it a wasteland, neither pruned nor cultivated, and briers and thorns will grow there. I will command the clouds not to rain on it.”

The vineyard of the Lord Almighty is the nation of Israel, and the people of Judah are the vines he delighted in. And he looked for justice, but saw bloodshed; for righteousness, but heard cries of distress.

Woe to you who add house to house and join field to field till no space is left and you live alone in the land. The Lord Almighty had declared in my hearing: ‘Surely the great houses will become desolate, the fine mansions left without occupants. A ten-acre vineyard will produce only a bath of wine; a homer of seed will yield only an ephah of grain.’

Woe to those who rise early in the morning to run after their drinks, who stay up late at night till they are inflamed with wine. They have harps and lyres at their banquets, pipes and tumbrels and wine, but they have no regard for the deeds of the Lord, no respect for the work of his hands.

Therefore my people will go into exile for lack of understanding; those of high rank will die of hunger and the common people will be parched with thirst. Therefore Death expands its jaws, opening wide its mouth; into it will descend their nobles and masses with all their brawlers and revelers.

So people will be brought low and everyone humbled, the eyes of the arrogant humbled. But the Lord Almighty will be exalted by his justice, and the holy God will be proved holy by his righteous acts. Then sheep will graze as in their own pasture; lambs will feed among the ruins of the rich. (Isaiah 5: 3-15)
