Left or Right, Either Way Blood Will Run in 2020

“Then they brought him a demon possessed man who was blind and mute, and Jesus healed him, so that he could both talk and see. All the people were astonished and said, ‘Could this be the Son of David?’

But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, ‘It is only by Beelzebul, the prince of demons, that this fellow drives out demons.’

Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, ‘Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand. If Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then can his kingdom stand? And if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your people drive them out? So then, they will be your judges. But if it is by the Spirit of God that I drive out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.’” (Matthew 12: 22-28)

There is no secret that the true State of our Union is divided and scattered. The United States is the most divided that this country has been since the Civil War tore this country apart. Only this time we are so splintered that even the large factions cannot agree with each other. Those that support gun rights cannot support gay rights, those that support freedom of speech cannot support gun control, those that support religious freedom cannot support a socialist state. These are but many examples of the segregation that is occurring within our great country.

Even with these deep divisions, we refuse to acknowledge the deep down racial and religious persecution that is occurring. The laws being created against poor brown immigrants vs white affluent immigrants show the hypocrisy of our system. The financial inequality between the 1% and those struggling paycheck to paycheck sheds light to the broken capitalistic society we have created. Everywhere we look we can see this division widening and both sides are becoming more boldened and empowered.

Those at the top of the economic latter believe they are entitled to their status while groups against the rise of corporatism are regarded as terrorists. Many who consider their religious morals superior consider those of different moral compasses as inferior to their beliefs and should conform while many see the hypocrisy of our society and its treatment of our poor. How can so many have so much while others have nothing? How can this be considered a religious society when greed has blinded empathy?

Everywhere we look we can see the division among this country, but no place is it more paramount then within the political arena. The sideshow of the American political system has polarized and radicalized the populous and we are treading on very thin ice. It won’t take much to cause this present anger to boil over and cause substantial damage to our society. All it will take is for one party to get elected over another. Considering this is exactly what democracy is, we can see what is going to happen.

There has been speculation that the peaceful transfer of power from one administration to another would be circumvented for many years. Rumors around the great recession being the reason to delay the election of 2008 and to keep President Bush in power were all over the internet. The same occurred when President Trump was elected as many rumors spread about President Obama retaining power after the results of the election. This speculation has been present, but it has never been something spoken about directly from the President of the United States. That is until President Donald Trump came out publicly stating that he believed he was entitled two additional years within his presidency due to the trouble caused by the Mueller Investigation. This was followed by President Trump talking publicly about staying within his presidency through a third term. All joking aside, this causes many to consider that the peaceful transfer of power from the Trump Administration may become an issue.

Take this rhetoric and add into the growing violent and aggressive stances of groups like the Alt-Right and Antifa and we have a recipe for disaster. With spreading inequality, growing segregation and separation, our society is causing the desire for many individuals to act out, showing their support for their beliefs. We can see this with increasing senseless mass shootings that are engulfing our society. What do you think will happen when one group considers the actions of another to be so extreme that they have to act against it? We can see this developing right now within this great nation!

No matter what political party wins the presidency during the 2020 Presidential Election, we are going to have trouble. If President Trump wins, he will become more emboldened and more aggressive toward furthering his agenda. This will cause both his supporters and his opposers to become bolder in their actions, causing a snowball effect within our society. If President Trump is not elected, the incoming party will work to dissolve what he has built, angering Trump’s supporters and embolden aggression for and against the Trumpites. Those who believe the spread of the Trump gospel have caused the disintegration of our society will act against their prior oppressors while disenchanted Trump supporters will feel their country has forsaken them and will do anything they can to maintain the status quo. Either way, we are in trouble!

We have come to a breaking point within our country and our society. Corporations and the ultra-wealthy have taken everything, and history has shown that this always causes revolution. The separation between the political parties show the crack within our democracy. The rise of racial and sexual attacks while we neglect our homeless population shows the moral decay within America. When will we see what is happening and stop fighting with ourselves? My fear is that we will not until it is too late……

“Then tell them, ‘This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Drink, get drunk and vomit, and fall to rise no more because of the sword I will send among you. But if they refuse to take the cup from your hand and drink, tell them, ‘this is what the Lord Almighty says: You must drink it! See, I am beginning to bring disaster on the city that bears my Name, and will you indeed go unpunished? You will not go unpunished, for I am calling down a sword on all who live on the earth, declares the Lord Almighty.

Now prophesy all these words against them and say to them: ‘The Lord will roar from on high; he will thunder from his holy dwelling and roar mightily against his land. He will shout like those who tread the grapes, shout against all who live on the earth. The tumult will resound to the ends of the earth, for the Lord will bring charges against the nations; he will bring judgment on all mankind and put the wicked to the sword,’ declares the Lord. This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘Look! Disaster is spreading from nation to nation, a mighty storm is rising from the ends of the earth.’

At that time those slain by the Lord will be everywhere – from one end of the earth to the other. They will not be mourned or gathered up or buried but will be like dung lying on the ground.

Weep and wail, you shepherds; roll in the dust, you leaders of the flock. For your time to be slaughtered has come; you will fall like the best of the rams. The shepherds will have nowhere to flee, the leaders of the flock no place to escape. Hear the cry of the shepherds, the wailing of the leaders of the flock, for the Lord is destroying their pasture. The peaceful meadows will be laid waste because of the fierce anger of the Lord. Like a lion he will leave his lair, and their land will become desolate because of the sword of the oppressor and because of the Lord’s fierce anger.” (Jeremiah 25: 27-38)
